Thyroid The department offers comprehensive care of thyroid disorders using a multidisciplinary approach involving an Endocrinology, a Nuclear Medicine Physician, a Surgeon and a Histopathologist to tackle all issues related with the primary diseases and the secondary effects of the thyroid hormones. Diagnosis of thyroid disorders is done by sophisticated tests which include, nuclear imaging, blood tests for hormones and sometimes biopsy. Treatment includes drugs, radioactive iodine or surgery for the primary thyroid disease. For secondary effects like infertility, obesity, heart disease more specific investigations and help of other medical specialists is taken. |
