Dr. Shashi Bhushan Gogia

Dr. Shashi Bhushan Gogia is one of India’s most distinguished Plastic Surgeons, Lymphologists, and Health Informatics pioneers, with more than 40 years of clinical experience in plastic, reconstructive, hand, cosmetic, and lymphatic surgery. He completed his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where his postgraduate research focused on the treatment of filarial lymphoedema, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to lymphatic disorders.

Since 1984, Dr. Gogia has been practising as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Lymphologist, and in 1990 established the Sanwari Bai Surgical Centre, which later became India’s only Centre of Excellence for Lymphedema Care. He introduced dedicated lymphoedema services in 1995, treating patients from across India and internationally. Alongside his clinical work, he serves as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research, where he provides specialised care in plastic surgery, hand surgery, reconstructive surgery, cosmetic surgery, and lymphatic disorders.

A recognised innovator, Dr. Gogia has developed indigenous medical technologies, pioneered telemedicine initiatives, authored textbooks, led international medical informatics organisations, and continues to contribute to healthcare innovation through research, education, and medical device development.
