Dr. Rinu Goyal is a senior pathologist with more than 25 years of experience in Laboratory Medicine, with extensive expertise in Pathology, Hematopathology, laboratory management, quality assurance and accreditation. She has been associated with Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science & Research for over a decade as Head of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, leading the department’s clinical, operational, quality and patient-safety initiatives.

She has extensive experience in laboratory diagnostics, Hematology, Hematopathology, Flow Cytometry, Immunohematology and transfusion-related practices. Her professional approach combines clinical expertise with strong quality systems to ensure accurate, timely and clinically meaningful laboratory results.

Dr. Goyal is a NABL Lead Assessor and Technical Assessor and a NABH Principal Assessor, with extensive experience in laboratory and hospital accreditation. She has participated in more than 200 NABL assessments and has significant experience in Quality Management Systems, internal auditing, CAPA, risk management and implementation of ISO 15189 requirements.

Dr. Goyal has a strong academic and professional interest in quality-oriented laboratory medicine and patient safety. She has been actively involved in training healthcare and laboratory professionals in Quality Management Systems, accreditation and ISO 15189:2022, including conducting training and academic programmes at reputed institutions such as AIIMS, New Delhi; AIIMS Jodhpur; University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), New Delhi; and PGIMER, Chandigarh, as well as several other institutions. She has contributed to professional education through lectures, workshops, training programmes and scientific presentations on laboratory quality, accreditation and laboratory management. Dr. Goyal has also played an active role in scientific and academic programmes and has served as Scientific Chairperson for PATHCON, the annual scientific conference conducted under the banner of the Association of Practicing Pathologists. Her professional contributions reflect a sustained commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, professional education and strengthening laboratory standards. She continues to actively contribute to the development of quality-driven laboratory practices and the training of laboratory professionals.
